Control Modulus Column Load Test.

Our Services

In-situ load testing to evaluate the settlement behaviour, and load-carrying capacity of Control Modulus Columns for ground improvement

Control Modulus Column Load Test (CMC) is an in-situ load test performed to determine the load-bearing capacity, modulus of deformation, and settlement characteristics of a CMC installed for ground improvement. CMC technology is widely used in weak soil conditions to reduce settlement and increase foundation stability without generating large spoil volumes. This test provides real performance data that verifies whether the constructed CMC meets the design assumptions before structural loading begins.

Why CMCMatters.

Determines Actual Load-Carrying Capacity

CMC foundations rely on the column’s ability to transfer loads into deeper, stable soil layers. The load test establishes: Ultimate load capacity, Allowable load capacity, Actual load transfer mechanism. This ensures that each CMC performs as expected in real ground conditions.

Evaluates Settlement

The test captures detailed load–settlement curves, helping engineers understand: behaviour of CMC. These parameters directly impact the safety and serviceability of the structure built above.

Verifies Quality of Construction & Design Assumptions

The performance of CMCs depends on installation parameters such as diameter, drilling method, grout pressure, and soil stratification. The test confirms: Proper execution of installation, Accuracy of design assumptions used in modelling. This is essential for quality control and for approving further CMC installations.
