Normal Concrete Mix Design
(IS 10262 Mix Design)
Scientifically proportioned concrete mix design as per IS 10262 to achieve specified strength, durability and workability — delivering optimised, cost-effective mix proportions for your project grade requirements.
What is the Normal Concrete Mix Design?
Normal Concrete Mix Design is the systematic process of selecting and proportioning constituent materials (cement, aggregates, water and admixtures) to produce concrete that meets specified requirements of strength, workability, durability and economy. A well-designed mix reduces cement content, controls shrinkage and ensures long-term structural performance.
At Global Lab, mix designs are conducted as per IS 10262:2019 (Guidelines for Concrete Mix Design Proportioning) for grades M10 through M60. Our designs are trial-tested in our NABL-accredited laboratory with fresh property testing (slump, flow, air content) and hardened property testing (7-day and 28-day cube strength).

How the Normal Concrete Mix Design is Conducted
-
1Material TestingAll constituent materials — cement (physical & chemical), fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water — are tested as per relevant IS codes.
-
2Target Strength CalculationTarget mean strength is calculated from specified characteristic strength and standard deviation as per IS 10262:2019.
-
3W/C Ratio & Aggregate ProportioningWater-cement ratio, water content, aggregate proportions and admixture dosage are calculated using IS 10262 method.
-
4Trial Mix Preparation & TestingTrial mix is prepared in laboratory. Fresh concrete tests (slump, flow, air content, density) and cube casting are done at 7 and 28 days.
-
5Final Mix Report IssuanceIf trial mix meets target strength and workability, final NABL mix design report with full material data and proportions is issued.
