Concrete Endoscopy Test
(Borescope Inspection)
Visual inspection of the interior of concrete structures through small-diameter boreholes using an endoscope camera — revealing internal voids, cracks, honeycombing and delamination without major excavation.
What is the Concrete Endoscopy Test?
The Concrete Endoscopy Test (also called borescope inspection) involves inserting a flexible or rigid endoscope camera into a small-diameter borehole drilled in the concrete to visually inspect the internal condition. This reveals internal defects such as voids, honeycombs, cracks, delamination, rebar condition and grout quality that are invisible from the surface.
Conducted in accordance with ACI 228 guidelines, this method is particularly valuable for post-tensioned grouted ducts, pile integrity verification, tunnel linings and walls where surface NDT cannot detect internal anomalies. Global Lab provides high-definition video recording and annotated photographic reports for every inspection.

How the Concrete Endoscopy Test is Conducted
-
1Borehole DrillingA 20–25mm diameter borehole is carefully drilled at predetermined inspection locations, typically to full depth of the element.
-
2Hole CleaningThe borehole is cleaned using compressed air or water flushing to remove drill dust and debris.
-
3Endoscope InsertionA rigid or flexible endoscope with built-in LED lighting and HD camera is slowly inserted into the borehole.
-
4Visual Inspection & RecordingThe entire borehole depth is inspected in real time. HD video is recorded continuously with depth markings.
-
5Documentation & ReportingDefect locations, depths and nature are documented with annotated screenshots. Full HD video and NABL report issued within 48 hours.
