Non-Destructive Assessment of Reinforcement Corrosion in Concrete (Corrosion Mapping)

Half-Cell Potential Test is a widely recognized non-destructive electrochemical test used to assess the corrosion activity of steel reinforcement in concrete. It helps engineers detect early signs of corrosion before visible damage occurs — making it one of the most valuable tools for maintenance planning and structural health monitoring. At Global Lab, the Half-Cell Potential Test is carried out using copper–copper sulfate (Cu/CuSO₄) electrodes, in accordance with testing standards ASTM C 876, IS 516 : Part 5 : Sec 2. This ensures accurate measurement, mapping, and interpretation of corrosion potential across concrete structures.
