Paver Block Testing
(IS 15658 — Concrete Paving Blocks)
Complete mechanical testing of concrete paving blocks as per IS 15658 — verifying compressive strength, water absorption, abrasion resistance, dimensional tolerances and skid resistance for roads and public spaces.
What is the Paver Block Testing?
Concrete Paving Blocks (Paver Blocks) are precast concrete units used for pedestrian areas, plazas, driveways, parking areas, ports and industrial floors. IS 15658 specifies minimum compressive strength of 35 N/mm² (Group A, B, C) based on application — with stricter requirements for vehicular and heavy industrial use.
At Global Lab, paver block testing is conducted as per IS 15658 covering compressive strength, water absorption (≤6% by weight), dimensional tolerances (length, width, thickness), flatness, abrasion resistance (for vehicular use) and skid resistance — mandatory tests for CPWD, municipal and NHAI pavement projects.

How the Paver Block Testing is Conducted
-
1Sample CollectionMinimum 6 blocks selected per IS 15658 sampling from consignment.
-
2Dimensional CheckAll 6 blocks measured for length, width, thickness and flatness.
-
3Water Absorption3 blocks tested for 24-hour water absorption per IS 15658.
-
4Compressive Strength3 blocks tested in CTM at standard loading rate. Compressive strength per IS 15658.
-
5Abrasion & ReportAbrasion resistance tested for vehicular use blocks. IS 15658 Group assigned. NABL report within 28 days.
