Pressure Gauge Calibration(DKD-R 6-1 Practice · IS 3624)
Calibration of pressure and vacuum gauges against dead-weight testers and master gauges — ascending/descending points across the range per DKD-R 6-1 practice, with IS 3624 accuracy-class verdicts.
What is Pressure Gauge Calibration?
Pressure gauges sit on everything from compression testing machines to autoclaves and triaxial panels — and their errors go straight into reported results. IS 3624 (Pressure and Vacuum Gauges — Specification) defines the accuracy classes; the widely-adopted DKD-R 6-1 guideline defines good calibration practice: preloading, ascending and descending measurement series, hysteresis evaluation and uncertainty statement.
Global Lab calibrates gauges against dead-weight testers and traceable master gauges, at multiple points covering the working range in both directions, reporting error, hysteresis and uncertainty with an accuracy-class verdict — lab or on-site for panel-mounted gauges.
How the Pressure Gauge Calibration is Conducted
- 1
Identification & Zero Check
Gauge details, range and class are recorded; zero indication and pointer condition checked. - 2
Connection & Preload
The gauge is connected to the dead-weight tester / master line and preloaded to full scale per practice. - 3
Ascending Series
Calibration points across the range are applied in ascending order and indications recorded. - 4
Descending Series
The same points are approached in descending order to quantify hysteresis. - 5
Evaluation
Errors are evaluated against the accuracy-class tolerance with computed uncertainty. - 6
Certification
As-found/as-left results are issued via Autovity QLMS.
