What is UPV Reference Bar Calibration?
Every UPV survey begins by zeroing the instrument on its reference bar — the certified transit-time artefact that anchors all subsequent velocity readings per IS 13311 (Part 1):1992. A bar whose true transit time has shifted (wear, damage, coupling-face degradation) mis-zeros the instrument and biases every reading after it.
Global Lab calibrates reference bars by comparison against traceable timing references and verified master instruments, certifies the bar's transit time with uncertainty, inspects coupling faces, and provides the certified value for daily instrument zero checks.
