What is UPV Reference Bar Calibration?

Every UPV survey begins by zeroing the instrument on its reference bar — the certified transit-time artefact that anchors all subsequent velocity readings per IS 13311 (Part 1):1992. A bar whose true transit time has shifted (wear, damage, coupling-face degradation) mis-zeros the instrument and biases every reading after it.
