What is Weighing Balance Calibration?
Every test in a materials lab starts on a balance — moisture contents, mix proportions, binder contents, chemical analyses. An uncalibrated balance corrupts them all silently. International practice for non-automatic weighing instruments follows OIML R76 requirements and the EURAMET cg-18 calibration guideline: repeatability, eccentric loading, and linearity across the working range, each with computed uncertainty.
Global Lab calibrates balances from analytical (0.1mg) to platform scales using traceable standard weights of appropriate class (E2/F1/M1 matched to balance resolution), reports as-found and as-left states, and states the expanded uncertainty at each calibration point — the number auditors actually look for.

Environment & Level Check
Balance placement, levelling and environmental stability are verified before measurement. - 2

Eccentricity Test
A test load is placed at the centre and four quadrants of the pan to quantify off-centre errors. - 5
Linearity Across Range
Indication error is measured at multiple ascending/descending points across the range with class-matched weights. - 6
